Creating Memories

>> Wednesday, September 2, 2009

The photo makes Tango and me look small...I LOVE IT! What I loved even more was spending the day riding with my granddaughter, Alexa. She's getting to be such a good little rider. I keep thinking I'll quit competing when she starts...maybe!
Alexa is riding Tantra. She's a pretty little quarter horse.
This photo was taken last week. Alexa was getting ready to start back to school and we figured we needed one more ride before the normal school time routine began. We had a wonderful ride even though it was hot and muggy. There's something about combining passions that create unforgettable moments. I think Alexa feels the same way. It goes way beyond grandmother and granddaughter. I just can't explain it. I'm at a loss for words and that's unusual for me.
All I know for sure is that I don't need a photo to remember the times I spend riding with Alexa. We're creating beautiful scrapbooks of memories in our minds and in our hearts.

I love horses too but don't get to ride them much as I live in the city,I don't know much about them either. That is a ride the two of you will cherish for a long time.

Blissful! Tango is such a sweetie and Tantra is beautiful; what great legs! I love reading about my two favorite things in life: grandchildren and horses! And dogs, too, of course.

Great photo, and it is wonderful that you and your grand daughter are able to share your love of horses! Once you get the horse bug you have it for life!

What a beautiful relationship you have with your granddaughter. My daughter, Alex, also rode quarter horses when she was a child.

Very special, indeed. Wishing you both many happy returns of the day on horses!

The thing about creating scrapbooks of memories is that you can arrange them and rearrange them to your hearts content! Wonderful stuff :)

It's many many years since I've been riding. I was not very good, but I was very keen lol

How lucky you are to have a common interest that spans 3 generations! I got to spend a few years riding with my mom, and always treasured it. I got her riding lessons for christmas one year, never thought she'd go through with it. She ended up loving it so much though - she actually bought a horse!! Many fond memories of days at the barn with her!!

Those horsey's are something. We saw them at a Polo match. We thought they were big doggys at first til mom explained.

Okay Mike...You'll be please to know that I don't make monkey sounds anymore...I gave that up!

Just so the rest of you know, Mike was my first driving trainer. He put up with a lot from me...I used monkey noises to get Tango into a great trot...at least I think that's what I used them for!

Mike, we're still driving, but doing more dressage now! Tango took 1st place in our last class. Woohoo!

It's wonderful that you and your granddaughter share the same love of horses and riding. And that you can spend the time together! Being with family is the best. Keep making those memories.

(Thank you for your prayers.)

Time with grandchildren? The best times there is!

I always tell my oldest son that Alexa and Christian (my grandson) get the best of me...I'm still young enough to do whatever they want. By the time my other two boys have kids it might be a different story...maybe not though!

Wonderful photo and certainly wonderful memories!

The best of you, seems I heard him say that about Mom, his grandma. That he got the best of her. I think that's true.

Sweet picture...does this mean you were able to get them off the camera? The ones you took you thought lost?

I think the relationship you and Alexa and Christian have, but especially Alexa truly is unique and wonderful.
