Maddie's Turn

>> Tuesday, November 3, 2009

You know, it seems like it should be my turn to talk. No Annabelle. No Tango.
I just heard my mom saying that it's time that Annabelle and I go to the groomer. Frankly, I like myself just the way I am. I was admiring myself in the mirror this morning. I looked adorable if I do say so myself.
If my mom had any sense, she'd like me that way too. In fact, if she gave it much thought, she could get rid of her dust mop and broom. Shoot...I have so much fur on the pads of my feet I could do the job they do in a heartbeat.
And I know how much Mom hates to clean. You should see her. She starts in the kitchen loading the dishwasher but before she gets to the floors she runs upstairs to get something she forgot. The next thing you know she disappears into her office and sits down at the computer.
Then the phone rings. Then she finds her riding boots and cleans the zippers. Then she comes back downstairs and opens the back door to shoo out a wasp. The woman can't stay focused!
Yep! In the time my mom wastes, I could do all the floors in the house. Besides that, it's getting colder outside. If I go to the groomer they're going to cut away all the nice warm fur off my feet. No slippers for me! What's a girl supposed to do?
Would you please try to talk some sense into my mom? She might listen to you!

We hope you have a nice warm coat or jacket to wear when you get all your hair cut off. That's what happens to me too. I had dustmops on my feet. Mostly they just brought in twigs, grass and dirt. Didn't do much for dust on the floors. Mom found pitch all over my feet and some of my hairs.... sounds like a real short cut for me again. Sounds like we both will need coats. It's hard to talk Mom's out of haircuts. I know - I have tried.
Good luck

Maddie, read this carefully and then get to it. Grab all the food and water you can carry and find a safe hiding place in the house. I am thinking under a bed, but don't make it obvious. Mom will go looking for you and when she finally finds you she will be so happy to see you that the grooming nonsense will be forgotten. GO NOW. Godspeed to you my friend.

licks and sniffs, Sasha
p.s. My Mom made an appointment for me for Friday so I will be doing the same(giggles).

Hi Maddie
Try to tell your mom how cold you will be when all your fur comes off, and so she will need to go SHOPPING! Yes- SHOPPING for you. You will need a NEW fashionable sweater, and a NEWjacket and some little booties, and a new blanket. Maybe that will talk her out of it.
Show her how much you can SHIVER and look PITTIFUL.

BOL....don't give mom any ideas before she makes you guys clean. Just sit back watch her and laugh. I think all moms do the same thing. Crazy!

Hey there Maddie
Oh boy...is the groomer that bad?! I am sure you get extra hugs for your extra cuteness on your return! I'm sure, really sure!
Anyway, your mom sounds like my mom when she has something going on in her creative mind...that computer is just too attractive and the rest can wait! Focus?, What's focus when the creative spirit is soaring?
Keep an eye on her...you might have to pin her to the ground.

Maddie is a 'Talented' person. You should not take him for grooming, ok!

Dear Maddie, Consider it a trip to the spa! I am sure mommy won't let you freeze to death this winter. Secretly, this gives her an excuse for you to cuddle on her lap on cold days. I bet there is a treat in store for you too!
Oh, I am a little concerned about what my mommy has been up to this week. She has been messing with our only warm space for winter, and when she does that she gets very picky about letting us back in! signed: Annie (BIG paw print)

Oh, Maddie. Elliott, Smoke and Dani are in the same boat as you. They have an appointment with the groomer tomorrow. While Elliott is very good for the groomer, he just absolutely hates to go. When we get to the vet he runs to the back of our Explorer and sits in the corner thinking we can't get to him. Smoke doesn't mind the groomer - he just hates the 35 mile trip. Dani - she's ok with all of it. She loves to get all dolled up! Maddie, dear, I hope your trip to the groomer isn't too traumatic for you.

Dear Maddie's Mom Person,

Maddie looks very pretty just the way she is. The groomers is an place I do not enjoy and it seems Maddie does not either. Couldn't she just stay "natural"

Love,

Oskar

Dere Maddie,

You dogs just don't get it do you?
Us cats we know how to not go to the groomer or to the vet.
We just say,"NO! I am not going. Now way no how. And you can't make me."
This works most of the time. Try it you might like it.

P.S. My mom post a picture of me on her Moday post.

Tell her how much money she'll save by not taking you to the groomer. Tell her how much money she'll save by not having to turn up the heat to keep you warm after she takes you to the groomer.

Tell her...you'll make her a deal. You'll not take her to the hair dresser/groomer if she leaves you alone. lol

I agree, you're perfect as you are!
