Actions Speak Louder Than Words

>> Wednesday, January 27, 2010

She claims to love me. In fact she claims to adore me. Actions speak louder than words, I say! If she loved me as much as she says she does she would most certainly let me get in her car and go home with her. But no. She WILL let me get apples out of the backseat, but that's about it. Just when I lift up one hoof to get in she pulls me out. What do you think about that?
Now don't get me wrong I like my barn and all my barn friends. But this winter has been going on for way too long and my little ears are beginning to get a chill. In fact, now that I think about it, my whiskers are frozen. Worse than that I have little ice balls on the end of my tail and on the the feathers behind my hooves.
You'd think she'd do something...anything! But no, she said my fur protects me from the cold and she doesn't want to cut the ice balls out. I heard her say something about lukewarm water....
Sometimes I think the woman could have a screw loose. Instead of taking me home (or at least in the warm barn kitchen) she decides to take me for a walk outside. I wonder if Maddie and Annabelle know that SHE WALKS ME?
I would have liked it a heck of a lot better if she'd have saddled me up and ridden. I can tell you that she's one hot mama!

So you're saying she's like a warm electric blanket on your back?

Well I sure don't blame you! A nice ride around the pasture would have warmed you up good. Psssssstt. I'll put a bug in her ear Tango!

Tango...you need to behave and all be good in short order. You've caused too many scandals there at the barn to be so picky. Hush now, and enjoy your walk and your apples.

If she loved you she would buy a bigger car. Better yet, just try to squish yourself in there.

If she let you into the barn kitchen, then everyone else would be jealous, and the secret that you share that you are indeed her favorite would no longer be just between the two of you...

Oh Tango,
you must be careful and not let those secrets leak out about the walkies and stuff ya know.
You don't want to stir the pot any more than it is.
I know how you would have liked to go riding
in the nice arena- but maybe your mom did not want to get her clothes dirty or Maddie and Annabelle would instantly know someone was getting more attention than them.
Oh i hope it warms up soon, ice balls are no fun.

We're not quite sure what to think about the "One Hot Mama" thing, but does your daddy know about this? If not, I'd tell him!

Luv,
Riley and Star.

Jan thank you for visiting my blog "Life After The Death of My Husband". Your blog is delightful. And you are right about being a animal person. I spent 10 yrs doing wildlife rescue and rehab, I have also done plenty of dogs, cats, and alot of exotics. Currently I have 5 cats and only 1 dog. I lost my 2 big guys awhile ago. Both to cancer. I'm not sure how I would have made it this far with out them and my kids. But it's them that keep my company at night. I will visit your blog often. Terry

OMG! Jan! I've just discovered your animal blog. Oh man, I mean hot mama, this is gonna be so much fun. I have 6 rescued house bunnies, most of them disabled in some way, and I have to echo Terry's comment, they mean the world to me. I'm constantly amazed at how much I learn from them.
Gorgeous photos.Tango sounds like personality plus.

A great read! I had a horse that often opened the back screen door and was found entering the kitchen several times. He really did think he was a dog and wanted to do everything my dog did including riding in the car!! Animals are all such treasures. Gail
