Can It Be Too Cold?

>> Friday, January 8, 2010

I've tried and tried to wake her up but it's just not happening. Maddie's not a winter kind of girl. Now I don't expect her to go outside for hours on end, but just ten minutes to chase a squirrel or two wouldn't hurt her, would it?
After all, I'm the one with the short hair and bare paws. Maddie's got slippers on her feet for goodness sakes!
She says she hates ice balls. Go figure! I could get frost bite and Maddie worries about snow in her feet. She never gets ice balls because Mom won't leave us outside that long. I guess my problem is that I'm just not a loner. I like company. Even Mom has deserted me, so to speak. She'll go to the barn to check on Tango, but she seems to have forgotten our walks. She said something about the wind chill being under zero. The wind chill doesn't seem to bother her when she's at the barn!
I do believe the problem could be resolved if Mom would buy us some clothes. I've seen lots of you wearing all kinds of trendy outfits. I've seen you in winter coats and boots too. Maybe someone should call children's....I mean doggy....services and report our mom. Now that I think about it, Mom's more to blame than Maddie. What do you think?

Honey, I think you're have a pitty party. Yes, it's cold. It's supposed to get down to -22 tonight. Let me tell you, I go out do my business and come right back in - and I love it outside.

Come check out my blog. Mom lets me write on Friday.

I do believe your mom is just worried about yo staying warm. I know I worry about our Mikey. He's an outside dog but I worry so about him that his dog house is in the garage and it's filled with warm bedding inside and on the outside it's covered with a thick comforter to keep more warmth inside. I'm sure once the weather warms up your mom will be taking you on walks again. In the meantime, get her to make you some homemade treats.

It is more fun to have someone to go outside with you. A coat would be nice. Sasha likes to go outside, but I Ernie don't really like it when it rains hard like it does. Chica, She is learning not to mind getting her tiny feet wet. She hasn't seen snow yet.
Good luck with getting her to go out for a tiny bit even!

Believe me, you DON'T want to go out! I have to stay outside when I am not sleeping in the garage (or on Daddy's lap under a nice warm blanket) and I am certainly not wearing those stupid looking clothes. Annie tries to get me out of my bed of cedar chips all the time to play and I don't have the beautiful winter coat she has; my hair is short and thin! It is darn cold out!

What a pair of cuties. I could try and make you some dog boots??? But then you would probably slip over.

It is cold outside. Only go outside when you can't wait any longer. And then hurry.
One of the crazy outside cats was sitting on top of the bird feeder yesterday. It was snowing! He didn't jump down from there until his gray coat was totally white. Now that is just foolishness.

Annabelle and Maddie
I can send you some of my clothes. I have plenty. I even have a coat that snowflakes will fall off!
However, I believe your mama that she does not want you to spend much time outside- cause that cold snow can freeze your toesies..
That snow is really not pink cotton candy- even though it looks like it.
When it warms up- I betcha a hot fudge sundae the walkies will come back again - for you and your mama.
Do you have a ball to go chase? That is what I am doing.

I think Mom likes Tango best. You should rebel!

Be happy you can stay in on a nice soft blankie.

Be trying to get ahead a bit on Sandy's Space, lining up posts...you know scheduling them so I'll have one every-other day. It's a good indoor activity.

And messing with yarn too, another good indoor activity.

What LUCKY pups to have such worries. Give your mommma a lick as she sounds like the type that loves you so much that she would give you your own blog space!
