Canine Dressage

>> Sunday, January 31, 2010

Most of you know that I ride Tango dressage and that we're in the training process. Dressage is precise, difficult, and beautiful to watch when done properly. The horse and rider move as one.
A friend sent me this video of canine dressage. I had never seen anything like it so I wanted to share it with you. It's beautiful to see. Enjoy!

Never seen anything like that! It was kinda cute when the dog lifted its leg when she did though.

I had no idea this was done. Saw the title of your post while I was having fun over on Traveling Suitcase and thought I'd come to see what it meant. Wow...all people with dogs should watch this to see how well trained pets can be.

Impressive

I used to take my first dobe to obedience fun matches. I know that these animals are having a great life! Animals love to have a job to do, and they love the amount of time that owners like this obviously spend with them.

It was a beautiful show. I'd love to see it in person!

Have you seen the movie The Long Shot? It's a beautiful story about a dressage horse and his owner.

Glad you found the draft with video I posted, forgot to ask you about it the other day.

Raining tons today, think we're gonna head to Savannah to see what we can see today, hopefully to minimize the weather isse.

Managed one walk on the beach so far, hubby got in one round of golf, and I toured some historic ruins via bike yesterday.

Chat later, cool video

It's called Canine Freestyle and Jib and I are learning the moves! It's great for older dogs, too, and Sailor has dabbled in the dance, too.
Here's my favorite performance of all time:

That is truly brilliant they move as one, what a lot of time the furbody must spend with that human to help her get it right.
