Touching Tulips
>> Friday, April 29, 2011
I had just walked down the little path and back in our yard when Sammy came out to greet me. He walked beyond me and turned back as if to say...you missed something...you didn't stop to smell the flowers. Isn't it interesting how our animals can remind us of the importance of recognizing special moments? Every moment is special to them. Each word each touch. Each sight each sound. I went back down the path with Sammy and bent down to feel the dampness of the dew on the tulip stems. I missed that the first time around. After all, who touches tulips? As of today, I do.

Pretty Dog! Oh yeah, flowers too! lol We all need to stop and take time to touch the beauty around us!
Sammy is so wise. Doesn't it feel good to know he shared his wisdom with you?
Oh yes, there is so much we should do,,,, slow down and smell the roses,, and breathe deep.
So many things I need to practice doing and maybe someday,, I will be comfortable with them.

Hi Jan, thank you for visiting earlier, we've come over to visit and are now following you! What a lovely thought to stop and appreciate the flowers, we enjoy nothing more than a good sniff around and think humans could learn a lot from us! Lovely to meet you, Dex & Lou
Thanks for visiting us! We love your blog. How very true about stopping to smell the flowers...humans really need to follow animals! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly

What a sweet post! You have a very pretty yard, and your tulips are so tall and bright. Lovely! Sammy is very wise to gently remind you to take time to appreciate Nature. He is also a very pretty pup!

Sammy is one smart dog. Connecting with nature is so beautiful, using all the senses.
Hard to miss the dampness with the overload of rain we've had. Don't think my purple tulips are even really going to open, they need some sun. I started to bring some in so I could enjoy them, but thought they'd last longer outside; and that was a week ago....still waiting for them to open. sigh
I have has always felt the need to reach out and touch things such as flowers. The feel of them is so amazing and almost like nothing else. What a blessing that dog showed you the Tulips on that walk today.

Traveling Suitcase out making blog log rounds AGAIN. Tulips came and went, as did the Daffodils, then the Iris, and now the Lillies are starting....so nice to finally be able to get some yard work done, so many weeds.
Yes, the animals and little children will teach you what life is all about..
Sometime an animal can tech you some real things about life what you cant find from a human.
good reminder!
