I Have the Remedy for the Blues....
>> Thursday, July 9, 2009
Have you ever had a day when you feel like you just lost your best friend? For whatever reason, today was one of those days for me. I'll snap out of it, but not without a little help. Maybe I'm just on overdrive. Maybe I'm thinking a little too much about Kelly. I'm just sad today.
When I'm feeling a little blue...or a lot blue....I rely on my guys. They understand without asking questions. They offer unconditonal love and let me cry all I want. I can hold Maddie and stroke her soft fur until my mind wanders off into a happier place. I can blow my nose as loud as I want and she doesn't move an inch.
I can play with Annabelle until she gets tired of playing with me. Then she can jump up on my lap and squirm, turn in circles, and eventually make me smile.
I can go ride Tango until I'm so distracted that I can't think of anything else but what I'm doing. After I'm done riding Tango, I can hose him off, dry him, feed him peppermints and offer pony (pony ha!) rides to anyone who wants them. A wonderful little guy named, Kyle, rode Tango today. So did his sister, cousin, mother and uncle. It was terrific.
And if I'm still feeling blue, I can wander around the farm and visit with the other horses. Candy Cane is the little miniature horse in the photo above. How could anyone feel sad when they're visiting Candy Cane? The little red cart belongs to Candy Cane. She's really something.
If I'm still feeling blue tomorrow, I'll treat myself with more of my own medicine. I'll get a really good dose of my animals morning, noon, and night. Can you think of a better treatment?

No I can't, Sasha always makes me happy when I am sad. Candy Cane is a beauty. You are very lucky to have so much love around you.

I cannot think of a better way to chase the blues away! We (liitle animals of all kinds) know when someone hurts. I do. I say "give me a chance and I'll make you smile" "Just a chance". So come and spend your time with us.
Let us heal your heart. My moms had some bad days, once upon a time, when they lost my sister. But, like magic, somehow I wiggled myself into their hearts. And it was a lucky day for me. Now they don't have as many blue days.
Seems the path always leads us to where we feel the best.

Sorry to read you've had a blue day, but glad you have Maddie, Tango, and Annabelle to help you through it. My hard times after losing Mom, tend to be at night; when the house is still and I think about Daddy facing another day without her. Death in all forms is hard; thankfully we have each other.
Tonight after a pretty long day a work, my legs are thrombing... I pour a glass of vino and zap left overs in the microwave, when Sundance appears. Sundance is never out of the fenced area next door. He came, sat by the table and didn't bark (thank God, because he can really go over board on that), just looked at us. I stroked his fur for awhile which seemed to make him happy. Then Hubby said Sundance, come on let's go home. He followed Ern around the side of the house in search of L, his Mom. She didn't know he had gotten out. She was busy working in the front yard. Animals do since you're emotions, I think.
Hugs Janney
Soon to bed, me and my thrombing legs need rest
My hubby, my cat Cindi and a good hike through the woods or even a city park always seem to cure the blues for me.
Hope your blues will be gone by tomorrow.
Cute cute picture of the poney or little horse. Fun name too for it. Hope today is better for you
I love your mini! And I do hope tomorrow will be a pink day for you. Sometimes, you just gotta be sad....
I am sorry about your blue day. But, you are right, I can't think of anything better then to spend my time with all my critters, they always seem to know what I need.
Animals are very special people. I know they have always helped my Mom. She has always had them and most of them have been rescues. Sasha & I were rescued. We are very happy pups now. Our tails wag most of the time. We give our humans so very much love(at least they tell us how special we are to them). We are sending you lots of sloppy kisses and we hope you visit us again sometime. We like visitors.

Our animals give us such unconditional love, don't they? And they seem to know when we are feeling blue. My 22 year old Maltese passed away three weeks ago. It was a truly difficult time. But last December my husband and I had rescued a Beagle we named Bailey, so for awhile we had two dogs. When my Maltese died, Bailey would just cuddle up and give all the affection she had. It helped, it really did.
Horses used to frighten me, but I met a love mare called Lucy who changed my mind.
