I Missed My Dogs!
>> Sunday, August 16, 2009
I just got back from a wonderful long weekend with two lifelong friends. We had a terrific time but I couldn't wait to get home. Wanna know why? I missed my dogs! My husband stayed home and took care of Maddie and Annabelle, so they were just fine but I missed them anyway. Is that silly or what?!

Definitely not silly! I feel that way too whenever I have to leave my dog.
Shall we be silly together! Some of my kids get jealous when I go to visit them in states other than my own for a week or so, and take along my dog's pictures to put in my room, and call home to talk to them on the phone, and cry... Pretty pitiful...:)
I understand! Every dog I see when I'm gone makes me miss them more.
When I was first an empty nester, it was kids too. I had double trouble then!
It doesn't help that my guys know when I'm getting ready to leave. Their sad faces stay in my mind.
There's no place I'd rather be than home. I can't imagine being here without my guys. When I hear people say that they're lonely I have to wonder if they have dogs or cats!
My husband and I have really busy lives, but they're made more complete because of the animals we love.
Hey, Jan - I know just how you feel! I've been on some fantastic trips in the last year myself; no matter how great the place, I do find my self oddly wishing to be home since I miss my dogs! Hope you had a great time with your friends :)
Oh, and I saw your friend request email for FB, but the link isn't working, so I can't confirm you. Could you please do the request again - I tried to find you but there are too many Jan Mader's !!!

IT is so NOT silly! We travel in a small travel trailer just to be with our little dogs. Our big ones I still miss. (You know we have 6 dogs, right?)
I pet sit for people too and there are so many people who miss their dogs to the max. Even though they know my home is better than a cage at the vet's, they still worry over them.
I don't blame them, you, or me a bit!
I knew but I forgot! I'm so lucky, when my husband and I travel together, my sister-in-law, Dee (who loves dogs/animals as much as me) comes and stays at my house with my guys.
When Dee and Mike go out-of-town, I go stay with their dog. It's a perfect arrangement. Even at that, I still miss my dogs and Dee misses hers!
My daughter always stays with our dogs so I know they are ok when we are gone but I still worry and miss them.
None of you are crazy. I have called home to talk to my dogs before and a few times I have called so they would hear my voice on the machine while at work. LOL. We are all just very sensitive loving people who get that animals have the capacity to love and feel too.
I know how you feel! Now excuse me while I grab your badges!
No. I went to FL last year without Hubby. I missed my horses! Shhh... don't tell him.
I don't have dogs, but I do have cats. I worry and miss them like nothing else. When I am at relatives that have cats, I am jealous that I can't be with mine. Even though I am having a great time with the visit.
I also have feral cats that I take care of and I miss them too.
The best part about vacation is coming home and getting the best "Welcome Home Wiggle Dance" EVER!!

Not silly at all!! I miss all my critters when I leave for any length of time, hmmmm, I guess that is why I don't get out of town much anymore.
there's no need to wonder why you really missed them so much...
if i will be on your situation, i will also miss my beloved pets...
we do really love our pets so much...
and as much as possible, we don't want to leave them...
Animals become a member of the family and no it's not silly...It shows that you love your dogs.
