Dog Days of Winter

>> Wednesday, February 3, 2010

Wouldn't you think that I could get some peace and quiet? The dog days aren't just for the hot summer! I was okay with the computer keys clicking away, in fact I was just about to doze off
when the blender shocked the beejebers out of me.

After the blender went off the dishwasher went on. The phone rang. The door slammed. What next? I wondered. Then I heard Maddie sneezing. She sneezes to get what she wants. First one sneeze. Nothing. Then two sneezes. Still nothing. THREE SNEEZES! Will someone please get Maddie her treats?
Finally! Mom caved. I heard the pantry door open and the tasty package crinkle. What took you so long? I thought to myself.
Normally I'd be right in there waiting for my treats. In fact, I'd be sitting up like a groundhog...or at least that's what mom says I do. Today I just want my nap. I deserve my nap. I NEED MY NAP!

I got my nap. The sound of Maddie crunching on her dog biscuits lulled me to sleep. I wonder if everyone needs naps like me?

Isn't it wonderful that dogs don't get insomnia?

Bobby February 3, 2010 at 3:14 AM

Yes I agree with Lily, I had not thought of that we do not have insomnia, you look nice and comfy. It is not worth moving for a treat, you will get one when you want anyway.

I love this picture!! It's how I feel a lot of times!! I would have made a great dog, or anything that loves to sleep & have treats! Maybe I was one in another life! ;-)))

Well if that's not a familiar sight to me!

Unknown February 3, 2010 at 10:09 AM

Yep! A very familiar sight! Got my Billy right next to me, on my recliner, as I too tap away!

Elliott, Smoke and Dani are very good nappers too - but not if there are treats being passed out!

I know just how you feel. I hate having my naps disturbed too. I am so happy that finally you got to resume your beauty sleep. No more dishwasher, and telephone.
Now you hear that comforting sound of the tapping of the fingers on the keyboard, and of course Maddie crunch, cruching away!
And , in answer to your question, I sleep in all kinds of positions too, but no positions as cute as yours.

I don't like my naps disturbed either, unless it's that not quite waking up where you go right back to sleep so you know you've been asleep.
Cute cute photos!!

Was thinking earlier I might take a nap...what, I never do that, except for when I'm sick. Even then, I lay down and typically can't go to sleep. Nap? Looks like you're enjoying yours.

Popped over for a look see. Check out the current and to be posted in a few hours post from SC...the suitcase, never naps.

I know who's hands those are on the keyboard....was pretty sure, then got to the end of your post and said...yep indeed
